US Dollar Extends Gains Against the Egyptian Pound Across Banks

The US dollar continued to strengthen against the Egyptian pound during Sunday’s trading session, recording a collective increase of 18 piasters at several banks compared with last Thursday’s close. The highest selling rate reached EGP 47.78, amid mixed pricing movements across the banking sector.

Crédit Agricole Egypt topped the list, quoting the dollar at EGP 47.78 for selling and EGP 47.68 for buying, followed by Kuwait Finance House Egypt at EGP 47.75/47.65. National Bank of Egypt came next at EGP 47.73 for selling and EGP 47.63 for buying, placing the highest prices within a narrow five-piaster range.

Meanwhile, Banque du Caire recorded the lowest exchange rate in the market at EGP 47.06 for selling and EGP 46.96 for buying, creating a gap of around 72 piasters between the highest and lowest selling prices. Overall, the dollar maintained its upward trend in the Egyptian foreign exchange market during today’s trading.
