Fawry Says No Official Notice Received Regarding Possible Suspension of Railway Sales Agent Service
Fawry for Banking Technology and Electronic Payments, which operates a digital payment ecosystem processing more than six million transactions daily with high levels of security and stability, said it has been monitoring media reports circulated last night regarding the intention of the Egyptian National Railways Authority to take legal action to suspend the company’s sales agent service.
The company stressed that it has not received any official correspondence from the authority providing clear details on the nature or scope of the issue, which would allow Fawry to review, verify, and take corrective measures should any error be identified.
Fawry explained that it immediately initiated direct communication with railway officials to fully understand the technical and operational aspects of the situation and to jointly address any potential observations on an urgent basis.
The company emphasized that these efforts aim to ensure that citizens are not affected and that railway ticket sales through Fawry’s nationwide network continue without disruption.
Fawry added that its infrastructure relies on advanced monitoring and control systems that enable real-time transaction tracking and swift handling of customer complaints. In cases involving disputed transactions, customers may submit full details for review by specialized teams to ensure the rights of all parties are protected.
The statement concluded by reaffirming Fawry’s full commitment to cooperation with the Egyptian National Railways Authority and all relevant entities, as well as its readiness to take all necessary technical and regulatory measures to guarantee service stability, in support of the state’s digital payments expansion and efforts to facilitate services for citizens.
