National Telecom Authority Strengthens Cybersecurity Awareness at State Administrative Institutions
Cairo – The Executive Department for Promoting Cybersecurity Culture at the Cybersecurity Industry Development Sector of the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) has conducted a series of awareness seminars to enhance digital security among state administrative employees, focusing on the staff of the Court of Cassation.
The seminars were organized in cooperation with the General Administration for Training Programs for the Government Sector at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. They form part of the NTRA’s ongoing efforts to promote digital literacy and cybersecurity awareness across different segments of society, under the initiative titled “Know Your Rights and Services – Protect Your Device and Data.”
Aligned with Egypt’s national vision to accelerate digital transformation and build a secure, knowledge-based society, the initiative also supports the National Cybersecurity Strategy (2023–2027). The sessions aimed to prepare employees to face increasing digital threats and foster a safer, sustainable digital environment.
The seminars featured a specialized lecture by the Cybersecurity Prosecution team entitled “Foundations of Device and Personal Data Protection and Daily Cyber Threat Mitigation,” delivered by Mohamed Youssef, Director of Cybersecurity Programs and Initiatives at the NTRA. Best practices for strengthening digital security culture within the workplace were presented.
Additionally, Dina Gabel, Director of Public Awareness at the NTRA’s Community Engagement Sector, highlighted the strategic role of the telecommunications sector in national development, the regulatory responsibilities of the NTRA, and the initiatives and services aimed at ensuring quality, competitive, and fair telecom services.
The events also included sessions detailing the Ministry of Communications’ programs for capacity building and enhancing the efficiency of government administrative staff, contributing to institutional awareness of digital transformation. Advanced topics were discussed, including artificial intelligence applications in the judicial system, personal and confidential data protection, and strategies to counter cyber threats, presented by Mohamed El-Hamami, Senior Expert at the NTRA’s Community Engagement Sector.
