Egypt’s Remittances from Abroad Hit Record High of $37.5 Billion in 2025
The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) announced that remittances from Egyptians working abroad continued their upward trend, recording a 42.5% increase during the period from January to November 2025, reaching approximately $37.5 billion, compared to $26.3 billion during the same period in the previous year.
According to the CBE’s statement, remittances reached their highest level on record, reflecting sustained inflows of foreign currency from overseas Egyptians.
On a monthly basis, remittances rose by 39.9% in November 2025, totaling around $3.6 billion, compared to $2.6 billion in November 2024. The increase underscores the continued role of remittance inflows in supporting Egypt’s foreign exchange resources and strengthening external sector stability.
