Intel successfully concluded the Grand Final of the Intel Campus Cup (ICC) 2025 on Friday, December 19, at the Hassan Mostafa Indoor Hall in 6th of October City, marking a landmark moment for university esports in Egypt.

The tournament witnessed strong nationwide engagement, with more than 100,000 university students participating throughout the competition and a record 3,000 students attending the grand finale. After a series of highly competitive matches featuring leading universities from across the country, Ain Shams University claimed the championship title, emerging as the winner of the Intel Campus Cup 2025.

The closing ceremony was attended by Ashraf Sobhy, Egypt’s Minister of Youth and Sports, who delivered a keynote address highlighting the growing role of esports and digital activities in engaging, empowering, and developing university students. The Minister emphasized esports as an important platform for youth development, innovation, and the acquisition of advanced digital skills.

Commenting on the event, Jesus Sanchez, EMEA Consumer Markets Director at Intel, praised the scale, energy, and professionalism of the tournament, describing the Intel Campus Cup as a world-class esports experience. He also highlighted the impressive growth of Egypt’s gaming market and the country’s expanding esports ecosystem.

Sanchez noted that the Intel Campus Cup builds on Intel’s long-standing leadership in global esports through flagship tournaments such as Intel Extreme Masters, adding that Egypt’s gaming infrastructure and the achievements of its young gamers are positioning the country as a regional gaming powerhouse.

He reaffirmed Intel’s commitment to supporting youth, innovation, and the rapidly expanding esports ecosystem in Egypt and the wider Middle East, a region home to an estimated 40 million gamers.

Looking ahead, Sanchez previewed upcoming Intel innovations, including the Intel Core™ Ultra Series 3, described as the company’s first native AI platform built on Intel’s latest 18A process node. The new processors are expected to be unveiled at CES in January, delivering up to 50% higher overall performance and 30% lower power consumption compared to the previous generation, alongside advanced integrated graphics.

He added that these advancements will enable thinner laptops, longer battery life, and richer gaming experiences, as artificial intelligence unlocks new levels of performance, immersion, and efficiency.

“As gaming continues to evolve, AI will play a transformative role, from smarter gameplay and performance optimization to more immersive and secure experiences,” Sanchez concluded. “Intel is proud to lead this future with innovations such as the upcoming Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors.”
