Fitch Expects Egypt’s Consumer Electronics Market to Outperform on Policy Support

Fitch Ratings has forecast strong growth for Egypt’s consumer electronics market, citing government policies that actively support local manufacturing as a key driver of outperformance.

According to Fitch, state-led initiatives and targeted programs aimed at developing the electronics industry—most notably the “Egypt Makes Electronics” initiative—are playing a central role in strengthening domestic production capabilities and enhancing the sector’s competitiveness.

The agency noted that incentive packages have helped broaden the local manufacturing base, while parallel efforts to boost e-commerce through the support of digital platforms and improvements in logistics and delivery services are accelerating market momentum. These measures are making consumer electronics more accessible to end users, enabling faster and more efficient product distribution nationwide.

Fitch expects these combined policies to underpin sustainable market growth, supported by an expanding consumer base and rising demand across the Egyptian market. The outlook reflects growing confidence in Egypt’s consumer electronics sector as a key beneficiary of industrial policy, digital transformation, and structural improvements in trade and logistics.
