Epson and DAFZ Launch E-Waste Recycling Drive to Mark International E-Waste Day
In line with the UAE’s national sustainability goals, Epson has partnered with the Dubai Airport Freezone (DAFZ) to launch an E-Waste Recycling Campaign, aimed at promoting environmentally responsible disposal of electronic waste.
Running from October 14 to November 14, 2025, the initiative coincides with International E-Waste Day and seeks to raise awareness among DAFZ’s business community and employees about the growing environmental impact of e-waste.
As part of the campaign, E-Waste Smart Bins have been placed in strategic locations across the Free Zone, enabling users to easily and securely dispose of old laptops, tablets, mobile phones, headphones, and small electronic devices. The bins also accept used ink cartridges and toners for safe and traceable recycling.
Each smart bin features a QR code system that allows participants to scan, photograph, and deposit their e-waste, ensuring transparent tracking and responsible recycling processes.
> “E-waste is one of the fastest-growing waste streams globally, and initiatives like this one play an essential role in raising awareness and driving responsible action,” said Bella Tobing, Head of Corporate Sustainability & Government Affairs at Epson META-CWA.
Tobing added that sustainability has always been a core part of Epson’s philosophy, and this collaboration with DAFZ underscores the company’s continued efforts to inspire positive behavioral change.

By participating in the campaign, DAFZ tenants and employees are helping recover valuable materials, minimize landfill waste, and contribute to a more sustainable, circular economy.
