Turkish Airlines Expands African Network with New Port Sudan Route

Turkish Airlines has launched direct flights to Port Sudan, further strengthening its extensive African network and bringing its destinations on the continent to 63.
The new route, which began operations on 17 September, will initially run twice weekly until 29 September, after which it will increase to three weekly flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Commenting on the expansion, Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee, Prof. Ahmet Bolat, said:
> “We are delighted to launch flights to Port Sudan, one of the historically and strategically significant port cities in Africa. This route marks an important step in connecting Port Sudan’s commercial potential, cultural heritage and tourism values to the world. We believe these flights will build new bridges in trade, tourism, education and cultural exchange, as we continue to expand our network in Africa and connect the continent with the rest of the world.”
Turkish Airlines is offering promotional fares for the new service. One-way tickets from Istanbul to Port Sudan start at USD 585, while fares from Port Sudan to Istanbul start at USD 638, valid for purchases made until 15 December 2025 for travel through 31 March 2026.
