Digitize Celebrates Local Manufacturing Milestone with AOI, Signs EGP 5 Billion Agreement for National Telecom Projects

Digitize for Investment and Technology (EGX: DGTZ.CA) has announced a major milestone in its local manufacturing journey, producing fiber optic and telecom infrastructure products at the factories of the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI). The achievement marks a significant step in the company’s strategy to promote domestic production and advance technology transfer in Egypt.

In a disclosure to the Egyptian Exchange on Thursday, Digitize also revealed the signing of a cooperation protocol with AOI to market and distribute its products across national telecom infrastructure projects, with a total value of EGP 5 billion (USD 100 million).

The signing ceremony, held at AOI headquarters, was attended by Major General Eng. Mokhtar Abdel Latif, Chairman of AOI; Dr. Eng. Ahmed Darwish, former Minister of Administrative Development and Digitize Board Member; Eng. Yousry Atlam, Chairman of Digitize; as well as board members Eng. Yasser Rashwan and Eng. Osama Yassin.

Strategic Partnership to Boost Local Manufacturing

Under the agreement, Digitize will harness AOI’s advanced industrial capabilities to expand the local production of telecommunications equipment, including fiber optics, 5G technologies, and data centers. The initiative is aimed at meeting domestic demand while positioning Egypt as a regional hub for ICT manufacturing.

Major General Eng. Mokhtar Abdel Latif welcomed the partnership, describing it as a powerful step toward strengthening Egypt’s digital infrastructure. “The initial phase of this collaboration will focus on executing and maintaining national fiber optic, 5G, and data center projects, while localizing production in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030 for sustainable development,” he said.

The agreement also includes manufacturing, marketing, and sales of ICT equipment and services for both public and private sector entities. It extends to installation, operation, and maintenance services, opening opportunities for exports to African and Middle Eastern markets under globally recognized standards.

Digitize Eyes Growth at Home and Abroad

Dr. Eng. Ahmed Darwish highlighted AOI’s role as the “industrial backbone of the Egyptian state” and emphasized Digitize’s ambitions to play a central role in digital transformation initiatives across Egypt and beyond.

For his part, Eng. Yousry Atlam described the agreement as a “strategic turning point” that will enhance Digitize’s production capacity, reduce reliance on imports, and reinforce its competitiveness in the telecom infrastructure sector.

“This partnership positions Digitize for sustainable growth with a total project pipeline valued at EGP 5 billion. It strengthens our revenue base, diversifies income streams, and ultimately maximizes shareholder returns,” Atlam said. He noted that the timing aligns with Egypt’s rapidly expanding ICT sector, which is being fueled by surging demand for digital transformation and smart services.
