Egypt Ramps Up Affordable and Green Housing Projects Across New Cities

Egypt’s Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny, has instructed officials to expedite construction progress on several projects under the presidential initiative “Housing for All Egyptians” across New Obour, Hadayek El-Obour, and New Assiut. The initiative includes residential units for low- and middle-income citizens, in addition to green housing projects.
During his inspection tours, the minister emphasized the need to increase execution rates, adhere to technical specifications and delivery schedules, and ensure that service projects are developed in parallel with housing units to provide fully integrated urban communities.
In New Obour City, officials from the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) inspected housing projects in districts 15 and 16. District 16 includes 433 buildings with 10,392 units, while District 15 encompasses 705 buildings with 16,920 units.
In Hadayek El-Obour, the visits covered the development of the city authority’s administrative headquarters and the citizens’ service technology center, alongside green housing projects:
Phase 5: 109 buildings with 2,018 units (90 sqm each) and 112 units (75 sqm each).
Phase 6: 258 buildings with 6,192 units (90 sqm each), in addition to ongoing work on roads and utilities.
In New Assiut, NUCA officials inspected the final finishing works and site landscaping for the 226-feddan expansion project in the southeastern zone under the “Housing for All Egyptians” program.
Housing ministry officials confirmed that work is progressing to complete all interior and exterior finishes, facades, and painting to the highest standards, ensuring that units are delivered fully ready and supported by essential services.
