Apple Set to Preview New Mac Models and OLED iPad Mini on October 28
Apple is preparing to showcase a new lineup of Mac and iPad devices at a media event in Los Angeles on October 28, 2026, with the company inviting selected journalists to attend the one-day product preview.
According to Bloomberg technology journalist Mark Gurman, the event is expected to focus on Apple’s first MacBook Pro models featuring touchscreen displays, a redesigned iPad mini, and new Mac devices powered by the company’s next-generation M6 chips.
Apple’s October Product Showcase
The event follows earlier reports that Apple could unveil the new products on October 27. The company may introduce the devices through an online presentation on that date, before allowing members of the press to experience them in person the following day, according to The Mac Observer.
However, Apple has not officially confirmed whether the October 28 event will be publicly livestreamed or announced the final launch schedule for the upcoming products.
First Touchscreen MacBook Pro
One of the most anticipated products is expected to be Apple’s first MacBook Pro with a touchscreen, potentially allowing users to interact directly with macOS through the display.
The expected lineup includes two touchscreen MacBook Pro models with 14-inch and 16-inch displays. Reports indicate that the devices could feature OLED panels, Dynamic Island technology, and slimmer and lighter designs, with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips also potentially included.
New MacBook Pro and iMac Models
Apple is also expected to introduce an updated 14-inch MacBook Pro powered by its next-generation M6 processor.
A refreshed iMac featuring the M6 chip is also reportedly in development, with expected improvements in overall performance.
The new Mac lineup would expand Apple’s transition toward its next generation of processors while introducing updated hardware designs.
OLED iPad Mini Could Arrive in November
Another expected highlight is a redesigned iPad mini featuring an OLED display, an upgraded processor, and a front-facing camera positioned horizontally to provide a more convenient setup for video calls.
The OLED screen is expected to deliver deeper blacks and improved contrast compared with conventional display technology.
The new iPad mini could become available as early as November, although Apple has yet to confirm an official release date.
Apple Has Yet to Confirm Pricing and Availability
Apple has not yet announced official prices, pre-order dates, or retail availability for the expected Mac and iPad mini models.
The company also has not confirmed a public livestream for the October 28 media event.
For now, October 28 remains the reported date for journalists to preview the products, while October 27 is still considered a possible date for Apple’s formal announcements.
The company recently followed a similar approach with its smart-home product announcements on October 13, when journalists were given an opportunity to test the new products themselves.
