Finance Minister: Committed to Structural Reforms and Private Sector Empowerment to Boost Growth and Debt Sustainability

Continued Structural Reforms and Support for Local Production

Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of Finance, affirmed that the Egyptian government aims to maintain the momentum of economic and financial improvement in the coming phase by continuing the implementation of comprehensive structural reforms. He explained that expanding the private sector's contribution to the national economy remains a top priority, supported by enhanced incentives for production and exports.

Fruitful Partnership with the Business Community and Fiscal Discipline

Speaking at a meeting with representatives of S&P Global Ratings in Bangkok, held on the sidelines of the IMF and World Bank Annual Meetings, Kouchouk noted that the ministry is actively stimulating economic growth through balanced development initiatives while maintaining strict fiscal discipline. He added that the approach of simplification, transparency, and close collaboration with the business community has already delivered rapid and highly positive results.

Reducing Debt Servicing and Directing Resources Toward Human Development

The Minister highlighted that improving public debt sustainability and reducing debt servicing burdens are central pillars of the nation's economic policy. This strategy aims to create fiscal space to enhance citizens' living standards and invest in human development programs. He concluded by emphasizing that Egypt’s recently improved credit rating reflects growing confidence among international markets and global investors.
