Huawei at Cairo ICT 2026: AI, Cloud and Data Centers Shape the Future of Digital Transformation
Huawei continues to expand its presence in the Egyptian market with a strategy centered on artificial intelligence, cloud computing, data centers, intelligent networks and digital infrastructure, as organizations accelerate the adoption of smart technologies and AI applications.
This comes as Cairo prepares to host Cairo ICT 2026, whose 30th edition will focus on transforming artificial intelligence from technological potential into practical applications that deliver measurable impact across different sectors.
Artificial Intelligence Moves to the Core of Enterprise Operations
In 2026, Huawei placed enterprise AI at the forefront of its strategy, focusing on helping organizations move beyond experimenting with artificial intelligence toward integrating it into core business operations.
During HUAWEI CONNECT 2026 in September, Huawei Cloud unveiled a range of enterprise AI offerings, including AI Cluster Service (AICS) and Agentic Model as a Service (MaaS), while continuing to develop AgentArts, its platform for enterprise AI agents.
The company is also developing solutions designed to help industries deploy AI at scale and integrate the technology into production, services and decision-making processes.
Huawei Cloud Strengthens Cloud Infrastructure in Egypt
Cloud computing represents a major pillar of Huawei's strategy in the Egyptian market, particularly following the launch of the Huawei Cloud Cairo Region in 2024 to provide locally hosted cloud services and serve markets across North Africa.
At the time of the launch, Huawei announced plans to invest $300 million over five years in developing the cloud region, while offering more than 200 cloud services covering artificial intelligence, data and application development.
Huawei's cloud infrastructure in Egypt provides capabilities across AI, big data, databases, security and compliance, supporting organizations as they move more operations and services to cloud environments.
AI Data Centers Emerge as a New Growth Area
Artificial Intelligence Data Centers, or AIDCs, emerged as another major focus of Huawei's strategy in 2026.
During the Huawei Intelligent Africa Congress 2026, held in Egypt in April, the company launched the Northern Africa AIDC Reference Design White Paper, providing a framework and solutions for developing AI data center facilities across Africa.
The initiative reflects changing infrastructure requirements as AI adoption accelerates, creating demand for more advanced computing, storage and networking capabilities.
Xinghe AI Advances Networks for the AI Era
Cairo also hosted the upgraded regional launch of Huawei's Xinghe Intelligent Network for Northern Africa in April 2026.
The portfolio focuses on providing smarter, more secure networks capable of supporting AI workloads while advancing network automation, protection and high-performance connectivity.
Huawei also introduced an upgraded Xinghe Intelligent WAN, designed to help enterprises build more secure, flexible and intelligent networks capable of supporting their digital transformation strategies.
Huawei Expands Its Presence in the Egyptian Market
Huawei continued to explore opportunities to expand its operations in Egypt during 2026.
In July, a company delegation led by Benjamin Hou, CEO of Huawei Egypt, discussed opportunities with the Egyptian government to expand Huawei's operations and strengthen cooperation in telecommunications, information technology, digital transformation, technology localization and digital skills development.
The discussions build on Huawei's longstanding presence in Egypt across telecommunications infrastructure, cloud services, enterprise solutions and digital talent development.
Investing in Digital Talent
Alongside its technology investments, Huawei continues to support digital skills development through training programs, the Huawei ICT Academy and the Huawei ICT Competition.
During the tenth edition of the global competition in 2026, Egyptian teams secured major awards in the Cloud and Computing tracks. The competition attracted more than 220,000 students and instructors from over 2,000 educational institutions worldwide.
These initiatives reflect Huawei's strategy of combining technology infrastructure development with efforts to build the skills required to operate and benefit from emerging technologies.
Huawei and the Shift Toward AI in Action
Huawei's current technology strategy aligns with the direction of Cairo ICT 2026, held under the theme “AI in Action – Turning Intelligence into Impact.”
With its expansion across Huawei Cloud, AI data centers, intelligent networking and Agentic AI solutions, Egypt continues to represent an important market within Huawei's broader strategy for digital and intelligent technology development across North Africa.
