Samsung’s First Android XR Smart Glasses Leak With 25 Designs and 9-Hour Battery
Samsung’s First Android XR Smart Glasses Near Launch
Samsung is reportedly preparing to introduce its first smart glasses powered by the Android XR operating system, with a new leak revealing a broad selection of designs ahead of the official launch.
According to SammyGuru, the glasses will vary in weight depending on the design, with the lightest version weighing 41 grams. That would make it more than 10 grams lighter than the closest camera-equipped Ray-Ban Meta models and several grams lighter than newer audio-focused versions that do not include a camera.
64GB Storage and 12MP Camera
Samsung’s smart glasses are expected to run Android XR and use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 processor. Their reported specifications include:
- 2GB of RAM
- 64GB of internal storage
- Up to nine hours of battery life
- Up to 72 hours of operation when used with the charging case
- 12MP camera
- 3K video recording at 30 frames per second
- Two speakers
- Four microphones
The battery endurance and camera capabilities are expected to be broadly comparable with those offered by the latest generations of Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses.
Android and iPhone Compatibility
The Samsung glasses are expected to provide core functions when connected to both Android smartphones and iPhones.
However, some Galaxy-exclusive features will reportedly require a smartphone running One UI 9, based on Android 17, as well as a Galaxy Watch running Wear OS 7.
25 Designs From Two Fashion Partnerships
Samsung is expected to offer a wide range of styles through partnerships with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker.
Warby Parker is reportedly preparing three frame designs: Alden, featuring a rounded shape; Reid, with a more square-inspired frame; and Wren, which has a cat-eye-inspired design.
Gentle Monster, meanwhile, is expected to offer six frame styles, including slim rectangular and oval designs.
Multiple Frame and Lens Colors
Both brands are expected to provide several frame and lens color choices.
Warby Parker is reportedly planning black, brown and green options, while Gentle Monster is expected to offer a wider selection including gray, purple, burgundy and brown, along with additional colors.
Gentle Monster is also expected to offer prescription-lens versions of its smart glasses.
Launch Date and Pricing Remain Unknown
Samsung has yet to confirm the official price or launch date for the smart glasses.
However, previous reports have pointed to a potential November 2026 launch, while the latest leak provides additional details about the expected designs and hardware ahead of the company's official announcement.
