A New Era for Electric Vehicles in Egypt

Kayan Egypt, the exclusive importer for the Spanish brand Cupra, is preparing to reinforce its strong presence in the Egyptian market by officially unveiling the all-new sporty Cupra Tavascan EV. This step holds special significance as it marks the arrival of the first fully electric model from Germany's Volkswagen Group to Egypt.

Futuristic Design and an Advanced Platform

The Tavascan EV falls into the compact coupe crossover SUV segment. It was officially revealed globally in 2023, following its initial concept debut in 2019. Built on Volkswagen's dedicated MEB electric platform (which Ford also utilizes across several models), the vehicle is fully manufactured in China through a joint venture plant between Volkswagen and JAC.

Diverse Performance and Top-Tier Safety Standards

The vehicle earned a full 5-star rating in Euro NCAP safety tests and is offered globally with three powertrain and battery configurations:

Base Variant: Rear-wheel drive featuring a 61 kWh battery, delivering 190 hp and 350 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds, with a driving range of up to 441 km.

Mid-Range Variant: Rear-wheel drive featuring an 82 kWh battery, producing 286 hp and 545 Nm of torque, accelerating in 6.8 seconds, with an extended range of up to 547 km.

Top-Spec Variant: All-wheel drive featuring an 82 kWh battery, generating a combined output of 340 hp and 680 Nm of torque, with a rapid acceleration of 5.6 seconds and a range of up to 517 km.

Launch Date and Official Event

Automotive enthusiasts are set for the official launch on October 15, during a major event featuring top company executives, led by Sven Schuwirth, Executive Vice President for Sales, Marketing, and Aftersales at Cupra, and Karim El Naggar, Chairman and CEO of Kayan Group.
