AlexBank Launches Apple Pay for Digital Payments
AlexBank, part of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group, launched Apple Pay for its customers on Tuesday, allowing them to use bank cards for fast and secure purchases through Apple devices in stores, online and within apps.
Adding AlexBank Cards to Apple Pay
The service allows customers to add their bank cards to the Apple digital wallet, with support for multiple cards and the option to select a default card for payments. This enables digital transactions without directly using the physical bank card.
Customers can add their cards through the AlexBank mobile application after downloading its latest version and signing in with a username and password or facial recognition. They can then access the cards section, select the card they want to add to Apple Wallet, and accept the terms and conditions.
Cards can also be added automatically through the Wallet app on an iPhone. Customers sign in to AlexBank using facial recognition or their username and password, select the card and accept the terms and conditions to complete the process.
How to Pay Using Apple Pay
AlexBank also allows customers to add cards manually through Apple Wallet. After opening the app and tapping the add button, users can select a debit or credit card, scan it using the phone’s camera or enter its details manually, including the card number, expiration date and three-digit security code on the back.
The setup process requires verification through a security code sent by text message to the mobile number registered with the bank. Once verification is complete, the card is ready to use with Apple Pay.
Customers can pay with an iPhone by pressing the side button twice, verifying their identity with Face ID, Touch ID or a passcode, and holding the phone near a contactless payment terminal.
Payments can also be made with an Apple Watch by pressing the side button twice and holding the watch near the payment terminal. For online or in-app purchases, customers can select their payment method, confirm payment and shipping details, and verify their identity to complete the transaction.
