Asian flying car manufacturer ARIDGE (formerly XPENG AEROHT) has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah to establish a pioneering regulatory sandbox for Advanced Air Mobility (AAM). Overseen by the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and led by the RAK Transport Authority, the initiative aims to create the world's first regulatory testing environment dedicated to low-altitude personal flying vehicles. The agreement also outlines plans to operationalize a pilot flight route connecting Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah.

The partnership positions ARIDGE as the first Chinese flying car company to enter a national-level regulatory sandbox in the Middle East. The comprehensive testing framework will evaluate several critical operational and technical dimensions:

Global Expansion BlueprintARIDGE intends to leverage the operational data and regulatory frameworks established in the UAE sandbox to accelerate its strategic expansion into Europe and Southeast Asia.

Public Demonstration and Diplomatic Context

In conjunction with its UAE expansion, ARIDGE recently conducted a live flight demonstration of its "Land Aircraft Carrier" aerial module at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi. The event, attended by Chinese Ambassador Zeng Jixin and UAE government representatives, celebrated the 42nd anniversary of China-UAE diplomatic relations and served as a direct showcase of the practical integration of terrestrial and aerial mobility.
