Saudi technology company HUMAIN, backed by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), has unveiled Horizon Ultra, a new AI-powered personal computer designed to run artificial intelligence workloads directly on the device while using cloud computing when additional processing capacity is required.

The computer was launched during LEAP 2026 in Riyadh following more than 12 months of design and development work by HUMAIN in collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies. The partnership aims to develop a new generation of personal computers capable of running AI locally while maintaining access to cloud services for more demanding workloads.

Snapdragon X2 Elite Powers Horizon Ultra

Horizon Ultra is built on the Snapdragon X2 Elite platform, featuring an 18-core Qualcomm Oryon CPU, a Qualcomm Adreno GPU and a Qualcomm Hexagon neural processing unit.

The architecture is designed to distribute workloads across specialized computing engines, allowing AI models and experiences to operate directly on the computer.

This local processing capability can support faster responses while allowing certain workloads and sensitive data to remain on the device, supporting privacy and data sovereignty.

Horizon Ultra is designed for a range of applications, including enterprise productivity, content creation, multimodal AI and intelligent agents. When a task requires computing resources beyond the device's capabilities, workloads can be shifted to the cloud.

HUMAIN Positions AI as a Core Computing Layer

Tareq Amin, CEO of HUMAIN, said the company had worked with Qualcomm Technologies for 12 months to help shape the future of computing by bringing together the CPU, GPU and neural processing unit to enable AI to operate directly on the device.

Amin described the Horizon Ultra launch as the beginning of this approach, with HUMAIN working with Microsoft on the first phase. He said the next stage is planned for 2027 with the launch of HUMAIN OS, in line with the company's vision of making AI an integral component of the device.

Wasim Sharbaji, Senior Vice President and President of Qualcomm for Europe, the Middle East and Africa and Qualcomm France, said AI is rapidly becoming a new interface for computing as devices gain greater capabilities to understand users' intentions and the industry enters the era of intelligent agents.

HUMAIN OS Set for 2027

Horizon Ultra will initially run Windows, while the next generation of the series is scheduled to launch with HUMAIN OS in 2027.

The operating system is expected to deepen integration between the device and HUMAIN's broader technology ecosystem, spanning infrastructure, cloud services, computing, data, models and applications.

Al-Falak will serve as the computer's sales and delivery partner. Horizon Ultra is scheduled to become available to enterprise customers starting September 20, 2026.

The launch reflects HUMAIN's strategy of extending AI into personal computing, positioning it as a core part of the device's architecture rather than simply a software feature. The combination of CPU, GPU and neural processing capabilities is intended to bring AI experiences closer to users and integrate them more deeply into workplace environments.
