Egypt’s Annual Core Inflation Rises to 14.7% in July 2026, Urban Headline Inflation Hits 14.9%

 The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) announced that the annual core inflation rate increased to 14.7% in July 2026, up from 14.3% recorded in June 2026.

According to the CBE’s indicators, the core Consumer Price Index (CPI) recorded a monthly variation rate of 0.0% in July 2026. This compares to a negative 0.3% in the same month of the previous year (July 2025), and a 0.3% increase in June 2026.

Urban Headline Inflation Reaches 14.9%

In a related context, the general urban Consumer Price Index, released today by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS), also reflected upward annual pressures.
