Food Export Council: 10 Markets Drive Egypt’s Processed Food Export Growth to USD 1.65 Billion in H1 2026
The Food Export Council of Egypt confirmed that 10 key markets recorded strong growth in Egyptian processed food exports during the first half of 2026, reaching a combined value of approximately USD 1.65 billion, compared with USD 1.31 billion during the same period of 2025, an increase of around USD 340 million.
The Council explained that these markets collectively accounted for nearly 44% of Egypt’s total processed food exports between January and June 2026, reflecting the broad growth opportunities available for Egyptian products across Arab, European, Asian, and American markets.
Egypt’s total processed food exports reached approximately USD 3.77 billion during the first half of 2026, compared with USD 3.41 billion in the corresponding period of the previous year, recording a growth rate of around 11%.
Spain topped the list of the fastest-growing markets, as Egyptian processed food exports to the country surged by 94% to USD 149 million, compared with USD 77 million during the first half of 2025.
Palestine ranked second in terms of growth, with exports increasing by 43% from USD 85 million to USD 121 million, followed by the United Kingdom, where exports rose by 37% to USD 86 million, compared with USD 63 million.
Exports to China increased by 29% to USD 130 million, up from USD 101 million, while shipments to Algeria grew by 27% to USD 131 million, compared with USD 104 million during the same period last year.
Egyptian processed food exports to Iraq also rose by 25% to USD 135 million, compared with USD 107 million, while exports to Jordan increased by 24% to USD 166 million, up from USD 135 million in the first half of 2025.
The Netherlands recorded growth of 19%, with exports rising from USD 140 million to USD 166 million, while exports to Saudi Arabia increased by 18% to USD 308 million, compared with USD 261 million.
Exports to the United States grew by 9%, reaching USD 255 million during the first half of 2026, compared with USD 233 million during the same period of 2025.
The Food Export Council stated that these results demonstrate the ability of Egyptian companies to strengthen their presence in traditional markets while achieving high growth rates in new and promising destinations, supporting higher export revenues and wider geographical reach for Egyptian processed food products.
The Council added that it continues to support exporting companies by providing market intelligence and studies, organizing trade missions, and participating in international exhibitions, helping businesses capitalize on available opportunities and open new channels for Egyptian exports.
