Saudi Fuel Station Consortium Acquires Digital Fleet Platform Syarah App

A consortium of Saudi fuel station operators has acquired Syarah App, a digital platform specialising in fuel management and vehicle services, in a deal aimed at integrating technology more deeply into the Kingdom’s mobility and forecourt sectors.

The acquiring consortium comprises Darb Stations, Octane, Go Station, Petrogen, Fuel Way, Liter, B Group and Velix. Together, the companies operate a network of more than 1,790 fuel stations across Saudi Arabia, according to announcements by Syarah App and members of the consortium. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The acquisition is expected to combine Syarah App’s digital capabilities with the consortium’s extensive operational footprint, creating opportunities to deploy the platform’s services across a significantly wider network of fuel stations.

Syarah App provides a technology-based system for managing vehicle refuelling, linking companies, vehicle fleets and fuel stations through a single digital platform.

Its services allow businesses to monitor fuel consumption, control refuelling transactions and receive electronic invoices and detailed reports for individual vehicles and company branches. The system is designed to reduce fuel waste, improve financial oversight and increase transparency in fleet operations.

The platform uses smart-chip and digital technologies to identify vehicles and manage the fuelling process, giving corporate customers greater control over where, when and how much fuel is purchased.

For fuel station operators, the system can support automated transaction processing, digital billing and stronger links with companies that manage large vehicle fleets.

The consortium said the transaction reflects growing confidence in the future of technology-driven fuel management and is intended to support a new phase of expansion and service development.

By integrating Syarah App into a network spanning more than 1,790 stations, the buyers will be able to expand the availability of its solutions across multiple regions of the Kingdom while accelerating the development of new services for station owners, businesses and motorists.

The acquisition also highlights a broader shift in Saudi Arabia’s fuel retail sector, where traditional station operators are increasingly investing in digital payments, fleet-management systems and connected vehicle services.

Fuel stations are gradually evolving from conventional refuelling sites into wider service platforms that can offer digital payments, vehicle maintenance, convenience retail and data-driven fleet solutions.

Syarah App operates as a digital intermediary between companies and participating fuel stations rather than supplying fuel directly. Its platform facilitates transactions while allowing businesses to maintain centralised records of expenditure and vehicle usage.

The deal could provide the platform with access to a much larger customer base and the operational resources needed to introduce additional services linked to vehicles, mobility and station management.

The acquiring companies said the integration would support more efficient and innovative services while contributing to Saudi Arabia’s wider digital transformation objectives under Vision 2030.

Neither Syarah App nor the consortium disclosed whether the company’s founders and existing management would remain in their current roles following the transaction.

The acquisition nevertheless represents a notable consolidation between Saudi fuel retailers and a specialised technology provider, bringing physical infrastructure and digital fleet-management capabilities under a common ownership structure.
