Egyptian Government Declares Thursday, July 2, as an Official Holiday in Observance of the June 30 Revolution

The Egyptian government has officially announced a change in the observance date for the upcoming national holiday. Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly issued a formal decree declaring Thursday, July 2, 2026, as an official paid holiday across the public sector, in commemoration of the anniversary of the June 30 Revolution.

This strategic shift moves the day off from its original calendar date of Tuesday, June 30, to Thursday, July 2, aligning with the government's ongoing policy of extending weekends to provide citizens with uninterrupted rest days while maintaining regular work continuity during the mid-week.

The holiday applies to employees across various state sectors, granting them a fully paid day off to celebrate this significant national milestone.
