NTI Hosts Fourth Edition of “Intilaka” to Accelerate Innovation and Youth-Led Technology Projects in Egypt

National Telecommunication Institute (NTI) hosted the fourth edition of “Intilaka” at its headquarters in Knowledge City in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital, reinforcing national efforts to empower young innovators and strengthen links between academic research and industrial applications.

The event was organized in collaboration with the Higher Technological Institute and the Arab Organization for Industrialization under the auspices of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

“Intilaka” Expands Role as Platform for Innovation and Applied Research

“Intilaka” has evolved into one of Egypt’s growing scientific and technological competitions focused on helping students and young researchers transform innovative concepts into practical projects and commercially viable solutions.

The initiative aims to leverage scientific research outcomes to create value-added products capable of generating positive social and economic impact while supporting Egypt’s broader digital transformation and sustainable development goals.

The competition encourages participation from students enrolled in national and private universities, academies, and higher institutes, with projects spanning key future-focused sectors including software development, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, computer networks, mechatronics, and renewable energy technologies.

105 Projects Showcase Emerging Technologies Across Multiple Sectors

This year’s edition attracted participation from 19 universities and institutes from across Egypt, presenting a total of 105 projects covering several advanced technology fields.

According to organizers, the competition includes 51 projects focused on mechatronics technologies, 39 projects in networking and software solutions, and 15 projects dedicated to renewable energy innovations.

Projects are being evaluated by a specialized judging panel comprising university professors, technology experts, and industry specialists tasked with assessing innovation potential, practical implementation, and societal impact.

Strengthening Collaboration Between Academia and Industry

A core objective of “Intilaka” is enhancing cooperation between academic institutions, industrial entities, and government organizations to address real-world challenges through applied innovation.

The initiative reflects growing national interest in bridging the gap between higher education outputs and labor market demands, particularly in strategic sectors linked to Industry 4.0, digital infrastructure, AI, and green energy transformation.

Organizers emphasized that the competition is designed not only to encourage creativity among students, but also to help transform graduation projects and research concepts into scalable solutions capable of entering the market.

NTI Continues Expanding Its Role in Egypt’s Digital Skills Ecosystem

Since its launch, the first three editions of “Intilaka” have showcased several successful practical experiences that contributed to increasing youth engagement in software sciences, telecommunications engineering, AI, advanced technologies, and renewable energy fields.

National Telecommunication Institute remains one of Egypt’s leading ICT training and capacity-building institutions and serves as one of the training arms of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

For more than four decades, NTI has operated as a national center of excellence in ICT training, research, consultancy, and professional development, offering advanced technical programs, postgraduate studies, and internationally recognized certifications for students, graduates, and professionals across Egypt.
