ALECSO Launches Strategic Arab Project to Revolutionize Educational Gaming and Protect Youth Identity
The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) has announced a landmark strategic project aimed at building a robust Arab gaming industry. The initiative focuses on producing educational and cultural digital content designed to familiarize Arab youth with their history, language, and heritage through innovative and competitive gaming formats. Sharif Abdul-Baqi, President of the Egyptian Federation for Electronic Sports, welcomed the move, highlighting its potential to reshape the regional digital landscape.
ALECSO Director-General Mohamed Ould Amar emphasized that educational games have evolved beyond mere entertainment into vital tools for developing cognitive skills, rapid thinking, and a sense of national pride. By leveraging the rich Arab cultural heritage, the project aims to create games featuring iconic historical figures, offering a safe and culturally relevant alternative to foreign applications that may carry risks or promote values inconsistent with Arab identity.
