Egypt’s FRA Licenses First Healthcare TPA Under New Unified Insurance Law to Fawry & Trimed

The Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) has officially approved the establishment of “Fawry Healthcare – Trimed,” marking the debut of the first dedicated Third Party Administrator (TPA) under the Unified Insurance Law No. 155 of 2024. This regulatory milestone follows the FRA’s Decision No. 229 of 2025, which established the formal framework for healthcare management activities in Egypt.

By licensing a tech-driven entity like Fawry Healthcare, the FRA aims to modernize the link between healthcare providers, insurance companies, and beneficiaries. The move is expected to significantly enhance the efficiency of medical claims processing and support Egypt’s broader digital transformation and financial inclusion goals. The approval was granted following a rigorous review by the FRA’s Licensing Committee, ensuring the new entity meets the highest standards of governance and operational readiness for the non-banking financial sector.
