Major Summit at ”ADIPEC 2026”: Egypt and UAE Outline Strategic Roadmap for Energy Partnership
On the sidelines of their participation in ADIPEC 2026 in Abu Dhabi, Dr. Hussein Issa, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, and Eng. Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, met with H.E. Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, to advance economic and energy integration between the two nations.
Regional Energy Hub and Mediterranean Logistics Expansion
Discussions focused on executing agreements signed with the Emirate of Fujairah in October 2025. These feature establishing an Egyptian joint-stock company to operate a logistical hub for crude oil and petroleum product storage in New Alamein. The ministers also reviewed the expansion of El-Hamra Oil Port alongside the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone, securing fuel supply contracts with EGPC to consolidate Egypt's role as a regional energy trading hub.
Deepening Investments and Engineering Collaboration
Both parties explored expanding operations for UAE's ADNOC and its subsidiary Arkius Energy in Egyptian exploration and production assets. Conversely, talks targeted empowering premier Egyptian engineering firms—notably Enppi and Petrojet—to participate in major energy projects across the UAE, capitalizing on their track record.
Green Solutions and AI for Operational Efficiency
The ministers discussed deploying global best practices for energy conservation and carbon reduction across industrial sites. They agreed to accelerate digital transformation, incorporate artificial intelligence into production and refining processes, and unlock new avenues in mining, petrochemicals, and low-carbon energy.
