Egypt’s E-Commerce Sector Hits Record 29.8 Million Daily Users; Amazon and Jumia Drive Market Expansion

The National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) has revealed a massive surge in Egypt’s digital economy, with e-commerce usage reaching 29.8 million daily users in 2026. The report highlights that these users generated an average of 10.5 million visits per day, marking a pivotal shift in the nation’s retail landscape. Leading platforms like Amazon Egypt and Jumia remain the primary drivers of this growth, benefiting from enhanced digital payment infrastructures and streamlined delivery networks.

According to industry analysts, this 2026 boom signifies the maturity of Egypt’s e-commerce ecosystem. The integration of "Buy Now, Pay Later" (BNPL) services and the expansion of mobile wallet adoption have significantly lowered the barriers to entry for millions of consumers. The NTRA’s data suggests that as high-speed mobile and fixed internet penetration continues to rise, the e-commerce sector is becoming a cornerstone of Egypt's GDP growth, attracting substantial foreign direct investment in logistics and fintech.
