Vodafone Egypt Empowers Rural Economy: 500 ”Maaki” Ambassadors Honored in Minya for Driving Financial Inclusion

Vodafone Egypt hosted a major recognition ceremony at the Minya Provincial Stadium to honor 500 female ambassadors from its flagship "Maaki" (With You) program. The event, attended by Governor Imad Kadwani and top Vodafone executives, including Chief Commercial Officer Karim Eid, marks a significant milestone in the company’s ambitious mission to economically empower one million Egyptian women. With over 1,200 pioneers in Minya alone facilitating 25,000 transactions, the program is transforming local communities by providing women with the digital tools and training necessary for financial independence.

The "Maaki" initiative is a cornerstone of Vodafone Egypt’s ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) strategy, focusing on bridging the digital gender gap. By leveraging Vodafone’s mobile wallet and digital services, these ambassadors act as catalysts for change, helping women in remote villages access financial markets and manage micro-businesses. Karim Eid emphasized that this empowerment is not just a social duty but a strategic investment in the future of Egypt’s digital economy.
