Egypt Unveils Multi-Axis Roadmap to Integrate AI and Quantum Computing into National Higher Education
In a landmark strategic move, Dr. Abdelaziz Qansua, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Eng. Raafat Hindy, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, launched a comprehensive new phase of digital cooperation. The initiative targets four primary pillars: Capacity Building, AI Integration, Digital Transformation, and Supporting Innovation & Entrepreneurship.
Minister Qansua announced that AI tools will be institutionalized within Egyptian universities to enhance research output and bridge the gap between academia and industry. A key highlight of the partnership is the target to produce 50,000 AI specialists over the next five years as part of the National AI Strategy’s second phase. Furthermore, the ministers discussed the full digitalization of graduation certificates via the "Digital Egypt" platform and the implementation of AI-driven healthcare solutions, such as early detection of diabetic retinopathy and breast cancer, across university hospitals.
