Egypt Activates Cabinet Crisis Room to Monitor Regional Developments and Strategic Food Reserves
In light of the regional developments unfolding since this morning, Egypt has activated the Cabinet’s crisis room to closely monitor the situation around the clock.
The Cabinet Operations Room is conducting real-time coordination with relevant authorities and governorates nationwide, issuing continuous situation reports to be submitted to Mostafa Madbouly, enabling him to review ongoing developments, assess potential crisis scenarios, and evaluate their impact on the region and the domestic situation.
In a related context, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly held discussions today with Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, to review the status of strategic food commodity reserves.
The Minister of Supply and Internal Trade affirmed that Egypt maintains a secure and sufficient stockpile of essential food commodities, with reserves adequate for several months. He also stressed the continued flow of goods into markets and the ongoing monitoring of prices through coordinated efforts among relevant authorities to ensure market stability, protect consumers, and prevent any monopolistic practices or unjustified price increases—particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.
