Commercial International Bank Egypt (CIB) announced the suspension of deposit services, incoming transfers, and several other features on its CIB Smart Wallet, effective March 1, 2026. The bank confirmed that all Smart Wallet services will be permanently discontinued as of April 15, 2026.

CIB clarified that any remaining balance in the wallet after the final shutdown date will be automatically transferred to the customer’s primary bank account. In cases where no active account exists, the balance will be credited to the customer’s credit card.

The bank emphasized that customers can continue to conduct their transactions seamlessly through its online banking services or the CIB Mobile Banking application. CIB also stressed the importance of safeguarding personal data by not sharing wallet PINs or one-time passwords with any third party.
