Vodafone Egypt Renews Mohamed Salah Partnership as 5G Ambassador, Expands Coverage to 3,000 Areas

Vodafone Egypt announced the renewal of its long-standing partnership with Egyptian and international football star Mohamed Salah, who will continue his role as the company’s ambassador for fifth-generation (5G) technology. The renewed collaboration underscores Vodafone Egypt’s commitment to leadership, innovation, and excellence, while coinciding with the company’s achievement of the widest 5G coverage in Egypt, now spanning more than 3,000 urban areas nationwide.

The partnership, which dates back to 2017, brings together exceptional performance and a forward-looking vision. It comes as Vodafone Egypt expands its 5G footprint from Alexandria to Aswan, reinforcing its position as the leading operator in 5G coverage across the country.

Since June 2025, Vodafone Egypt has accelerated the rollout of its 5G services, increasing the number of supported areas by 63 percent, from around 2,000 urban zones to more than 3,000 today. This rapid expansion reflects the company’s continued investment in strengthening its network infrastructure, ensuring that advanced 5G services are available across major cities and governorates from northern to southern Egypt.

These announcements come at a pivotal time as Vodafone Egypt implements an ambitious plan to deploy 5G services swiftly and comprehensively nationwide. The expansion aligns with the company’s strategic objective of building a robust, future-ready 5G network that reflects Vodafone Egypt’s strong presence in the daily lives of Egyptians. At the heart of this vision is the renewed association with one of Egypt’s most iconic sports figures, with Mohamed Salah continuing to embody Vodafone Egypt’s aspirations for the future of connectivity through a partnership built on trust, shared values, and long-term success.

Karim Eid, Vice President of Commercial at Vodafone Egypt, said that renewing the partnership with Mohamed Salah highlights the strength of one of the most impactful long-term collaborations in the Egyptian market. He noted that the partnership reflects Vodafone Egypt’s commitment to relationships based on trust, continuity, and shared achievement. Eid added that Salah’s continued role as 5G ambassador represents the values of leadership, consistency, and national pride that define Vodafone Egypt’s brand at this stage.

Eid explained that the renewal coincides with the company’s rapid expansion of 5G deployment, delivering the widest 5G coverage nationwide. These investments, he said, enhance Vodafone Egypt’s ability to provide seamless, high-quality digital experiences, particularly in live streaming and content consumption, as major events such as the Africa Cup of Nations approach, where speed and network stability are critical to customer experience. He added that the partnership reflects the alignment between Vodafone Egypt’s vision to lead the future of telecommunications and a global model of excellence, contributing to a stronger and more connected digital experience for millions of Egyptians.

Within this framework, Mohamed Salah continues his role as ambassador for both the Vodafone Egypt brand and its 5G technology. Just as Salah is present in every decisive moment for Egypt, Vodafone Egypt’s 5G network delivers a strong and reliable presence everywhere, enabling customers to work, connect, and enjoy entertainment through a fully integrated digital experience supported by the country’s most extensive 5G coverage.

Fifth-generation technology represents a significant leap in the future of communications, offering higher speeds, greater stability, and uninterrupted live streaming and video calls. It is set to transform the quality of communications and video conferencing, enhance network efficiency and capacity, and support Internet of Things applications across vital sectors including healthcare, industry, education, and transportation. The technology also plays a key role in advancing smart city solutions, driving innovation, and enabling more advanced augmented and virtual reality experiences, laying the foundations for a powerful and interactive digital future in Egypt
