National Bank of Egypt Signs Partnership with El Sewedy Electric Foundation to Support Technical Education

The National Bank of Egypt (NBE) has signed a cooperation protocol with the El Sewedy Electric Foundation to provide EGP 80 million in support for the establishment of a new dual technical education school in the 10th of Ramadan industrial city under the name “El Sewedy – National Bank of Egypt Technical Academy.” The initiative reflects both institutions’ commitment to advancing practical education and creating sustainable employment opportunities for youth.

The signing took place during a graduation ceremony for a new cohort of students from the El Sewedy Academy. The event was attended by a number of prominent figures including:

Alaa Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation

Dina Abou Taleb, Head of Marketing and Community Development at NBE

Sadek El Sewedy, Chairman of El Sewedy Electric Group and CEO of El Sewedy Industries

Ahmed El Sewedy, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of El Sewedy Foundation

Mohamed Awra, Community Development Manager at NBE

The ceremony was also attended by Mark Bryson-Richardson, British Ambassador to Egypt, and Dato Mohd Terid Sufian, Malaysian Ambassador to Egypt, in addition to representatives from the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the Ministry of Social Solidarity, and several diplomatic missions.

Continued Investment in Youth and Skills Development

Dina Abou Taleb emphasized that this partnership builds on a series of successful collaborations between NBE and the El Sewedy Foundation. NBE previously funded scholarships for 291 students over three years at a total value of EGP 27.5 million, as well as 671 scholarship recipients at El Sewedy University over four years totaling EGP 70 million during the past three years.

She noted that the protocol reflects the National Bank of Egypt’s belief in investing in human capital, especially technical education, which remains a cornerstone of sustainable development and a direct pathway for real employment opportunities. She added that NBE is committed to supporting initiatives that make a tangible difference in young people’s lives and enable them to enter the labor market with confidence and professional skills. The collaboration with the El Sewedy Foundation is a strong model of integration between the financial and industrial sectors in serving society.

Advancing Technical Education and Industry Readiness

Eng. Ahmed El Sewedy expressed pride in the continued partnership with the National Bank of Egypt, affirming that the new agreement represents a significant step toward strengthening Egypt’s technical education ecosystem. He added that the El Sewedy Academy is dedicated to graduating a generation of students who are academically and professionally qualified to meet industrial needs and compete in the labor market. The NBE’s contribution will play a pivotal role in expanding technical school infrastructure and developing advanced educational environments that reflect the requirements of modern industries.
