Banknbox Egypt Expands Digital Services and Strengthens Leadership in SoftPOS Solutions

Banknbox Egypt, a leading provider of Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) solutions for banks and financial institutions, has announced a major expansion of its integrated digital services portfolio, reinforcing its leadership in SoftPOS technology.

The company’s enhanced SoftPOS solutions enable banks and payment acquirers to offer mobile payment acceptance services securely and conveniently — eliminating the need for traditional point-of-sale (POS) terminals.

This expansion is part of Banknbox’s strategic roadmap to build a comprehensive financial technology ecosystem that integrates merchant management systems, reconciliation and settlement tools, and transaction routing to both local and international networks. The company also focuses on seamlessly embedding payment acceptance technologies into banks’ existing merchant and corporate channels, empowering financial institutions to offer more flexible and innovative digital services to their business clients.

Over the past two years, Banknbox has made substantial investments in technical infrastructure and cybersecurity enhancement. The company recently achieved global mPOC certification for mobile payment security — becoming one of the few firms worldwide to earn this recognition. In addition, it has developed new products such as TTOD (Tap To Own Device), which allows users to make payments directly using their own smartphones instead of relying on merchant devices.

Commenting on the announcement, Eng. Bassem Mahmoud, CEO of Banknbox Egypt, said:

> “As a united team, we are proud of what we have achieved in building a fully integrated technological ecosystem that meets the highest international standards of security and quality. Our expansion in SoftPOS services aligns with our vision to support the Egyptian banking sector’s digital transformation journey, empowering it to deliver innovative payment solutions that simplify customers’ lives and promote financial inclusion. We also aim to position Egypt as a regional hub for exporting payment technologies to Arab and African markets.”

Mahmoud added that Banknbox currently provides SoftPOS services to more than six leading companies in the Egyptian market in partnership with national banks. The company is also in advanced discussions with several other banks and corporates to expand the rollout of the service in the coming months.

Banknbox is also working to establish its Egypt headquarters as a regional hub for exporting digital banking and payment solutions to markets across the Middle East and Africa. Today, the company offers a portfolio of over 40 digital banking services to banks and financial institutions in more than nine countries, including Iraq, Libya, Qatar, and several African and European markets, with further expansion plans to be announced soon.

This strategic direction aligns with Egypt’s Vision 2030, which seeks to position the country as a regional leader in financial technology and digital exports, with strong support from the Central Bank of Egypt to enhance private sector participation and promote the adoption of national payment systems — building on Egypt’s rapid progress in the banking, telecommunications, and data infrastructure sectors in recent years.
