Beersoft acquires iCareer to establish the largest integrated range of recruitment and career services in Egypt

Behrsoft, the owner of Egypt's two leading recruitment platforms, "Tawf" and "Opsna", announced the full acquisition of iCareer, Egypt's largest consulting company specializing in providing recruitment programs and extensive career solutions. This acquisition also enhances Chersoft's expansion beyond Egypt and allows it to spread more across the Gulf region, noting that Schersoft officially launched its operations in Saudi Arabia earlier this year, marking a starting point for a comprehensive regional growth strategy aimed at serving millions of job seekers and business owners in the Middle East and Africa.

Founded in 2009, Schersoft has successfully connected more than 9 million job seekers to more than 100,000 employers, and has contributed to the management of an estimated 1.4 million recruitment operations across its platforms. The company now operates an integrated system of electronic job platforms, recruitment software and job qualification programs, which is specifically designed to address the challenges of unemployment, skills shortages, workforce preparation, and labor market efficiency across the region.

Established in 2012, iCareer is renowned for implementing extensive programs dedicated to career and career guidance throughout Egypt and the Gulf region. Its partners and clients include government ministries, universities such as Ain Shams University, the Arab Academy for Science and Technology, Canadian universities in Egypt, the American University in Cairo, and major local and multinational companies such as Hassan Allam Holding, Vodafone, Pepsico, Raya Holding, and P&G, in addition to international development organizations such as the International Labor Organization (ILO), the United Nations, the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), and the Youth Employment Challenge Fund (CFYE), supported by the Dutch government.

Commenting on the acquisition deal, Amir Sharif, co-founder and CEO of the board of directors of Shersoft, and a member of the Ministerial Group for Entrepreneurship, said: “We now have a coherent entity that combines the strengths of both parties, with its powerful technology and data on the one hand, and iCarrer with its field experience on the other.” He added: “By joining iCAR to our group, we will not only deepen our local impact, but also expand across Saudi Arabia, the Gulf countries, the Middle East and Africa. This is part of our new acquisition strategy and integration of other companies in the field of recruitment technology and the wider human resources field in the region, to enable millions of job seekers and provide integrated recruitment solutions for companies of all sizes. We also aim to be the primary partner of the private sector with governments when it comes to public policy to make the labor market more efficient and solve the problem of unemployment on a large scale by accessing better human resources and benefiting from in-depth insights.”

As part of the deal, Beersoft also acquired Recruitera, the first Egyptian applicant tracking program (ATS SaaS) developed by iCarrer, which will soon be integrated with Tawab and our opportunities platforms to enhance the efficiency of recruiting and searches for human talent for clients. The Recrotera software allows employers to deploy jobs, manage orders, and access analytics in a smooth and standardized process. In addition, iCareer's training, mentoring and assessment programs can now be integrated with the job market access opportunities offered by the Tawf and our opportunities platforms, giving universities better tools to integrate employment skills into their curriculum.

For his part, Akram Marwan, co-founder and CEO of iCareer, said: “Uniting our efforts in cooperation with Beersoft helps us achieve our mission. Over the past years, iCareer's advantage has been our strong relationships with more than 1,000 employers, giving us the ability to develop better practical content and engage employers in the job reconciliation process with iCarer graduates. But now, thanks to the sheer size of the large employers' network of the Tawf and our opportunities platforms, this reconciliation process is ten times larger, which will have an unprecedented impact on job creation and youth employment. The job market is more dynamic and challenging than ever, as the spread of the telework and artificial intelligence model has radically changed entire industries and functional roles, but through the new entity we will be able to support our partners and the community to overcome this constant change more successfully.”

Over the past years, the two companies have succeeded in helping more than 10 million people in Egypt, with the target of empowering 100 million people by 2030. The company continues to seek other acquisition opportunities in the recruitment and technology sectors, both in Egypt and across the region, as part of its ambitious plan to become one of the first Egyptian technology companies to offer its shares for public subscription within the next three years.

Ahmed Samir, General Manager of Beshersoft, pointed out that the acquisition marks the beginning of a new phase for the company. “Our vision goes beyond employment. We aim to become the leading company in the field of human capital management in the Middle East and Africa, by finding solutions to the key recruitment challenges facing Egypt and the wider region in parallel with the adoption of new technology. For example, this integration will enhance our matching engines and recommendations for a faster and easier recruitment process. The use of artificial intelligence will also help job seekers create profiles in a few steps and helps employers deploy jobs with minimal effort using data and insights from thousands of jobs previously posted on our platforms.”

Sheresoft currently employs 200 people and plans to expand its workforce by adding 100 new employees over the next two years, growing revenues to $25 million. Beshroft also continues to contribute to the development of public policies, especially in the areas of entrepreneurship and labor reform, as part of the new Egyptian Labor Law of 2025 and the Ministerial Group for Entrepreneurship. The company continues to work with government bodies to reduce informal work, enhance labor market visibility, and align education programs with industry requirements.
