The upcoming edition of the New Alamein Festival is poised to be more than just a celebration of music and entertainment. According to Ehab Saeed, Head of the Telecommunications and E-Payments Division at the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce and a board member of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce, the event has evolved into a strategic platform for economic growth, investment attraction, and national branding.

Saeed emphasized that the state has successfully transformed the festival into a pivotal economic and cultural event that drives substantial investment and revitalizes the North Coast, especially New Alamein City. “Hosting such a large-scale event annually reinforces Egypt’s reputation as a capable organizer of international events, bolstering investor confidence and highlighting the country’s advanced infrastructure and operational readiness,” he stated.

The third edition of the New Alamein Festival is scheduled to kick off on Friday, July 18, and will run until August 29, offering a packed program of concerts, cultural performances, and recreational activities designed to draw millions of visitors from across Egypt and abroad.

Saeed noted that the festival has become a major tourism magnet, significantly boosting hotel occupancy rates and doubling the number of visitors to the area. He highlighted the crucial role that leisure tourism plays in stimulating local economies through increased demand for hospitality, transportation, retail, and other services.

The festival’s success, Saeed added, has encouraged many local and international companies to revisit their expansion plans, positioning New Alamein as a central hub for future investments. “The surge in real estate activity during the festival period is a clear indicator of the event’s positive impact on market dynamics,” he said.

New Alamein has built a positive public image as both a tourism and investment destination, thanks to its modern infrastructure, hospitality venues, shopping centers, and year-round living amenities including education, healthcare, and administrative services.

Saeed revealed that the festival creates more than 5,000 direct and indirect jobs across event management, security, hospitality, and service industries. He also estimated that around 3.5 million people visit the city during the festival period, pushing hotel occupancy to record highs.

He underlined the event as a model of successful public-private partnership, highlighting growing interest from telecom and fintech investors in expanding to the region due to its advanced digital infrastructure and business-friendly regulatory environment.

Looking forward, Saeed called for leveraging the festival’s momentum to launch more high-impact events that strengthen Egypt’s position on the global tourism and investment map, while opening new doors for sectoral growth.

He also praised the United Media Services (UMS) for its pivotal role in organizing the festival with high professionalism and strategic planning. “Their commitment has greatly elevated the visitor and investor experience, showcasing a clear alignment with Egypt’s broader development agenda,” Saeed added.

He concluded by describing the Alamein Festival as part of a comprehensive state-led development strategy to transform the North Coast into a fully integrated investment and tourism hub—connected through smart transport, modern ports, and advanced industrial zones—further cementing Egypt’s role as a regional leader in both tourism and investment.
