Egypt, represented by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), is chairing the 55th Session of the Permanent Arab Committee for ICT and the 56th Session of the Executive Bureau of the Arab Telecommunications and Information Council of Ministers (ATICM), held from July 14 to 16 at MCIT headquarters in Smart Village.

In parallel, MCIT is also hosting the meeting of the Arab Preparatory Group for the International Telecommunication Union’s (ITU) World Telecommunication Development Conference 2025 (WTDC-25) on July 17.

The Committee’s meeting brings together ICT experts from Arab countries and representatives of regional and international organizations, while the ATICM Executive Bureau’s meeting is attended by Arab ICT Ministers.

Topics addressed in the Arab ICT Committee’s session include the outcomes of the meetings of the preparatory group for ITU Plenipotentiary Conference 2026 (PP-26), and the Arab AI Working Group. The agenda also covers the activities of ATICM’s supervisory bodies, the Arab scientific symposium on AI and cybersecurity, and Arab cooperation with regional groups, organizations, and relevant stakeholders in the field of ICT.

In addition, the meeting discusses the Arab ICT Strategy (Arab Digital Agenda), the Arab Global Forum for Digital Cooperation and Development, the Arab Digital Economy Index, the WSIS+20 Review process, and the Global Digital Compact.

It is worth noting that Egypt currently chairs both the Permanent Arab Committee for ICT and ATICM’s Executive Bureau,
