Xiaomi Named Among Top 100 Most Admired Brands in Africa for 2025, Rises to 29th Place

Global technology leader Xiaomi has announced a new milestone in its African expansion journey, having been ranked 29th in the Brand Africa 100: Africa’s Best Brands 2025 list. The ranking marks a significant leap of 16 places from last year’s position at 45, signaling growing consumer trust and accelerated brand presence across the continent.
The Brand Africa 100 ranking is recognized as the most credible and authoritative index measuring brand performance in Africa. The survey is conducted independently by GeoPoll and Kantar, two of the most reputable global research firms with deep expertise in African markets. It is based on direct consumer responses, making it a powerful indicator of real-world brand equity and resonance.
The 2025 survey covered 31 African countries, representing over 85% of the continent’s population and GDP. Data was gathered using a combination of mobile surveys, SMS responses, and face-to-face interviews, ensuring comprehensive demographic representation across urban and rural communities.
Consumers aged 18 and above were asked to spontaneously name brands they most admire across various categories, including brands making a positive societal or environmental impact, brands contributing to a better future for Africa, and both African and non-African brands. The study collected over 150,000 brand mentions and featured 5,930 unique brands, making it one of the most extensive consumer perception studies ever conducted across the continent.
In a statement, Xiaomi's leadership expressed pride in the achievement, saying:
> “We are extremely honored by this recognition, which reflects our deep commitment to the African market and supports our vision of making innovative technology accessible to everyone. Climbing to the 29th spot in the Brand Africa rankings is a testament to the increasing confidence African consumers have in Xiaomi. We are particularly focused on expanding our footprint in strategic markets like Egypt, which remains one of our most important growth hubs in the region.”
Xiaomi emphasized that this accomplishment is not an endpoint but a strong motivator to deepen investment across Africa. The company is actively working to expand production lines, strengthen distribution networks, and enhance after-sales service, while also collaborating with local partners to create shared value and sustainable growth.
Strong Momentum in the Egyptian Market
On the local front, Xiaomi continues to strengthen its position in Egypt. Recent market research reports show that Xiaomi ranked third in Egypt’s smartphone market in Q1 2025, capturing a 17% market share and recording a 14% year-on-year growth in smartphone unit sales.
This performance underlines Xiaomi’s growing momentum in Egypt, as consumers increasingly turn to its devices for a blend of high quality, advanced features, and competitive pricing. With these results, Xiaomi moves closer to achieving its strategic goal of becoming the top smartphone brand in the country.
The company’s continued success reflects its ability to meet Egyptian consumers’ expectations through cutting-edge innovation, value-driven pricing strategies, and reliable after-sales support.
