ITIDA Launches Nationwide Internship Program to Train 10,000 Students in Emerging Tech and Digital Arts

The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) has unveiled an expanded edition of its annual Summer Internship Program, targeting more than 10,000 university students across Egypt. The initiative is part of the country’s broader strategy to prepare the next generation of digital professionals, in collaboration with the National Telecommunications Institute (NTI) and Systel, the exclusive distributor of Motorola Solutions in Egypt.
Designed to equip students with industry-relevant skills in ICT and digital arts, the program offers tailored training in key domains such as cybersecurity, cloud computing, data analytics, UI/UX design, software development, digital marketing, and electronics.
Building a Future-Ready Workforce
Egypt produces over 760,000 university graduates annually, including 50,000 ICT graduates and 28% from STEM disciplines—a testament to its position as a regional talent powerhouse. Under the leadership of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), Egypt has committed to training over 500,000 professionals by 2025 in high-demand tech fields like artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.
“Through this nationwide internship program, we are aligning academic learning with market needs and enabling students to gain practical experience and global certifications,” said a spokesperson from ITIDA.
Practical Tracks and Certification Opportunities
The upgraded program features eight specialized tracks delivered in cooperation with NTI, offering a blended model of 90 hours of technical training and 30 hours of soft skills and freelancing essentials. Tracks are accessible online or in-person via NTI campuses and Digital Egypt Innovation Hubs (Creativa Centers) throughout the country.
Participants also receive up to 70% discounts on international certification exams, supporting their competitiveness in both local and global job markets.
Industry-Led Training with Systel
In a parallel stream, ITIDA has partnered with Systel, a Motorola Solutions affiliate, to launch a hands-on summer training program focused on advanced telecommunications technologies. This track, designed for 250 students annually, covers areas such as:
Microwave and broadband communications
Fiber optics and satellite technologies
Surveillance and public safety systems
Systel fully sponsors the technical component, while ITIDA supports soft skills training, reinforcing a public-private model for talent development.
Shaping Egypt’s Digital Future
This initiative reflects ITIDA’s long-term vision to cement Egypt’s status as a regional hub for digital services and a leading destination for IT and business process outsourcing (BPO). By bridging the gap between academia and industry, the program helps create sustainable career pathways for Egypt’s youth in the digital economy.
Enrollment is free of charge and open to undergraduate students in relevant faculties. Applications can be submitted through ITIDA’s official website.
