Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly announced that the government is moving to establish two specialized units aimed at strengthening support for entrepreneurs.

One unit will focus on financing-related matters, while the second will serve as a dedicated channel for receiving entrepreneurs’ questions and providing answers. The government is also considering legislative changes designed to make it easier for entrepreneurs to conduct and expand their businesses.

Madbouly made the announcement during the “Entrepreneurs’ Pitches: From Idea to Growth” session at Egypt Forum 2026, which is taking place from October 19 through October 24 in the New Capital.

Entrepreneurship Takes Center Stage in Economic Policy

According to Madbouly, entrepreneurship has become a major priority for the Egyptian state and is included among the key pillars of the government's economic transformation agenda for the next three years.

The government is seeking to improve the business environment while expanding the support available to entrepreneurs and startups as they develop their projects.

New Legislation to Support Startups

Madbouly said proposed legislative amendments will address financing and investment-related issues, with the aim of reducing procedural obstacles facing entrepreneurs.

The changes are intended to create a more favorable environment for startups and emerging businesses while helping entrepreneurs overcome challenges that could limit their ability to operate and scale.

Government Signals Continued Focus on Entrepreneurs

The prime minister welcomed the opportunity to attend the entrepreneurs’ pitching session and reiterated his belief in the importance of entrepreneurship as an important avenue for Egypt’s youth.

He also pointed to the successful entrepreneurial examples showcased during the event, stressing that the government plans to maintain its focus on developing the entrepreneurship ecosystem in the next phase.
