Data released by the Engineering Export Council of Egypt (EECE) revealed a remarkable 67% surge in engineering exports during June 2026, reaching $784.2 million compared to $469.7 million in the same month last year. According to the Council’s monthly report, this marks one of the highest monthly growth rates achieved by the sector in recent times.

Furthermore, the Council's data showed that the sector's exports grew by 6.6% year-on-year during the first half (H1) of 2026, recording $3.348 billion, up from $3.140 billion during the corresponding period in 2025. This increase was driven by the strong performance of key industrial sectors and expanding demand across diverse foreign markets.

Resilience and Strategic Targets

Eng. Sherif El-Sayyad, Chairman of the EECE, stated that the H1 results reflect the sector's continued performance improvement despite ongoing global trade challenges. He noted that Egyptian companies have successfully enhanced their competitiveness by improving product quality and expanding their footprint in international markets.

El-Sayyad added that the robust performance in June underscores a growing demand for Egyptian engineering products, alongside the Council's successful efforts to support exporting companies and unlock new opportunities abroad.

To maintain this momentum, El-Sayyad emphasized the need for continuous efforts to increase production, deepen local manufacturing, and boost the value-added component of Egyptian products. He revealed that the sector is targeting a record $7.5 billion in exports by the end of this year.

Top Performing Sectors

The export growth was largely fueled by the stellar performance of several industrial sub-sectors:

Electrical and Electronic Industries: +65%

Pumps, Boilers, and Engines: +31%

Cables: +23%

Automotive Components: +22%

Tableware and Kitchenware: +9%

Home Appliances: +2%

Global Market Expansion

The Council's data also highlighted significant geographic expansion. Export growth was recorded across multiple regions, reflecting the growing international presence of Egyptian engineering products:

Europe: France, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Czechia, Austria, Poland, Romania, and Turkey.

Arab World: Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Kuwait, Lebanon, Sudan, Tunisia, Syria, and Qatar.

Africa: Cameroon, South Africa, Ghana, and Ethiopia.

The Americas: The United States and Argentina.

Future Outlook

Looking ahead, El-Sayyad stated that the Council will focus on enhancing the presence of Egyptian companies in high-growth markets, maximizing the benefits of trade agreements, and expanding participation in international trade missions and exhibitions. These efforts are closely aligned with the state's broader objectives to increase industrial exports.

He concluded by noting that the sector possesses substantial opportunities for continued growth in the second half of the year, driven by the rising competitiveness of Egyptian products and an influx of industrial investments. The Council ultimately aims to achieve an annual growth rate exceeding 15% by the end of 2026, further cementing the engineering sector's contribution to Egypt's total exports.
