Taheel, GIZ Co-host Webinar on ICT Training, Employment Opportunities for PwDs

The National Network for PwD Services (Taheel) hosted a webinar on June 25 to introduce training, qualification, and employment opportunities available in the ICT sector. The event was organized in partnership with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and Partners in Transformation, an initiative by Germany's Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), alongside iCareer and Raya Information Technology.

The webinar forms part of a broader range of services offered by the Network to advance the digital empowerment and economic inclusion of people with disabilities (PwDs). These services span digital and vocational qualification, connecting beneficiaries with training programs and job opportunities, career counseling, and building partnerships that open new pathways for economic empowerment and labor market integration.

Experts from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) led the session, showcasing the Taheel platform and its role in capacity building and expanding job opportunities for PwDs, while outlining the training and employment opportunities on offer.

The session also covered the career services available through the iCareer platform, along with a specialized training program by Raya Information Technology designed to prepare participants for employment, highlighting the skills in demand and job openings available in the sector.

Attendees included graduates of computer science and information technology faculties and institutes, graduates from other fields with a background or experience in IT, as well as a number of PwDs looking to build their professional skills and tap into available training and employment opportunities.

Taheel is a national project launched by MCIT and implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Solidarity, and the Ministry of Labor. It brings together service providers on a single digital platform, making it easier for PwDs to access training, qualification, and employment support within a coordinated national framework.
