Egypt’s FRA Licenses ”Misr Reinsurance Brokerage” to Expand Market Capacity and Global Connectivity
The Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) has officially granted an operational license to Misr Reinsurance Brokerage, authorizing its entry into the specialized reinsurance brokerage registry. This approval is part of the FRA’s ongoing mission to strengthen the non-banking financial sector by introducing regulated entities capable of bridging the gap between local insurers and global reinsurance markets.
By licensing new brokerage firms, the FRA aims to enhance risk distribution mechanisms and increase the technical capacity of the Egyptian insurance industry. The decision follows a thorough evaluation by the FRA’s Licensing Committee, which ensures that all new entrants adhere to rigorous governance and operational standards. This move is expected to attract more sophisticated insurance products to the Egyptian market and support the coverage of large-scale national infrastructure projects through international risk-sharing.
