UAE Ministry of Economy and Hub71 Partner to Strengthen IP Framework and Agentic AI Innovation
In a significant move to fortify the UAE’s knowledge-based economy, the Ministry of Economy and Tourism has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hub71, Abu Dhabi’s global tech ecosystem. Witnessed by H.E. Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, the agreement aims to enhance cooperation in Intellectual Property (IP), patent protection, and the emerging field of Agentic AI. The MoU was signed by H.E. Abdullah Ahmed Al Saleh, Undersecretary of the Ministry, and Ahmad Ali Alwan, CEO of Hub71, on the sidelines of the "Make it in the Emirates 2026" forum.
The partnership focuses on providing technical and legal consultancy to startups, accelerating patent examination processes, and fostering a culture of creativity within the UAE’s business environment. H.E. Abdullah Al Saleh emphasized that IP is a fundamental pillar for national economic competitiveness, while Ahmad Ali Alwan noted that empowering founders to protect and manage their ideas effectively is crucial for their growth and global expansion.
