The Great Wall Falls: Samsung Integrates AirDrop Support into Quick Share with Galaxy S26 Debut
In a historic move toward cross-platform interoperability, Samsung Electronics has officially announced AirDrop support for its newly launched Galaxy S26 series. By bridging the gap between Android and iOS, Samsung’s Quick Share will now allow seamless file transfers directly with Apple devices, effectively ending the long-standing "blue vs. green" file-sharing divide.
The global rollout began on March 23 in Korea and is rapidly expanding to major markets including North America, Europe, Japan, and Southeast Asia. Initially exclusive to the Galaxy S26 flagship lineup, the feature represents Samsung’s commitment to an "open collaboration" philosophy. Industry experts view this as a strategic play to attract iPhone users by removing one of the primary friction points of switching to the Galaxy ecosystem—the ease of sharing high-quality media with friends and family on iOS.
