COMESA Investment Forum 2026 Concludes in Nairobi with Landmark ”Investment Map” Launch
The second edition of the COMESA Investment Forum (CIF 2026) concluded in Nairobi, marking a pivotal step toward deep economic integration across Eastern and Southern Africa. Held under the auspices of H.E. President William Ruto, the four-day summit gathered 400 business leaders and heads of National Investment Promotion Agencies (NIPAs) to harmonize investment facilitation practices across the 21-member bloc.
The forum’s centerpiece was the launch of the COMESA Investment Map, a strategic digital tool featuring over 180 endorsed opportunities in key sectors such as agriculture, energy, and the digital economy. Highlighting the shift toward data-driven governance, COMESA Secretary-General Chileshe Kapwepwe noted that the map is essential for transforming regional potential into "tangible projects." Discussions also leaned on UNCTAD’s 2025 Investment Report, which urged member states to move beyond simple tax incentives toward robust digital facilitation and institutional capacity building to secure long-term investor confidence.
