EgyptAir Denies Data Breach Claims, Confirms Integrity of Employee Databases

EgyptAir has denied claims circulating online regarding a potential breach of its databases or the leakage of employee information, affirming that all human resources data is securely stored on internal mainframe systems within the company’s data center in Egypt.

In an official statement, the national carrier said its digital systems are protected by strict security measures in line with the highest internationally recognized cybersecurity standards. EgyptAir confirmed that no cyber intrusion or indicators of data leakage related to employees or job applicants have been detected.

The company added that its data protection framework is implemented in cooperation with a specialized cybersecurity firm, stressing that its human resources systems are operating normally and have not been affected by any electronic attacks.

The statement was issued in response to allegations made by a hacker who claimed to possess a database allegedly linked to EgyptAir and offered it for sale on an online cybercrime forum. The individual claimed the data included tens of thousands of records belonging to employees and job applicants.

EgyptAir emphasized that it continues to closely monitor the situation and is taking all necessary measures to safeguard its data and the personal information of its staff, reaffirming its full commitment to information security and the integrity of its digital systems.
