Egyptian Red Crescent Signs Six Cooperation Protocols to Boost Humanitarian and Community Development Efforts
Dr. Maya Morsi, Minister of Social Solidarity and Vice President of the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC), witnessed the signing of six cooperation protocols with national and academic institutions. This included a tri-party agreement with the National Council for Women and the National Bank of Egypt, as well as protocols with the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood, Nasser Social Bank, Al-Ahram Canadian University, and the British University in Egypt.
The protocols aim to strengthen institutional partnerships and coordinate efforts in humanitarian work and community development. Key objectives include supporting vulnerable groups, empowering women, protecting children, promoting volunteerism, and building youth capacities, contributing to sustainable development and improving quality of life.
The signing ceremony, held at the ERC headquarters, was attended by Dr. Amal Emam, ERC Executive Director, and other dignitaries including Amal Ammar, Chair of the National Council for Women; Dr. Sahar El-Senbaty, Chair of the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood; Mohamed El-Atreby, CEO of the National Bank of Egypt; and Dr. Khaled Hamdy, President of Al-Ahram Canadian University.
Dr. Maya Morsi emphasized that the ERC’s honorary presidency by Mrs. Entissar El-Sisi, wife of the President of Egypt, reflects the organization’s strong national and humanitarian role. She highlighted the ERC’s contributions in responding to the crises in Gaza and Sudan, as well as local emergencies, while promoting first aid awareness and comprehensive community initiatives.
Dr. Amal Emam noted that the protocols with Al-Ahram Canadian University and the British University in Egypt aim to establish ERC units on campus and organize training activities, workshops, and seminars to develop highly qualified student cadres in volunteerism, humanitarian aid, social work, and health support.
