Vodafone Egypt Applies for New Frequencies to Enhance Network Quality, Reports 46% Revenue Growth in 2025

Ayman El-Saadany, External affairs director at Vodafone Egypt, announced that the company has formally submitted a request to the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) to obtain additional spectrum frequencies, as part of its ongoing efforts to improve network quality and meet growing customer demand.

Speaking during a media briefing, El-Saadany stated that Vodafone Egypt’s latest sustainability report was prepared with a “from-the-heart” approach, aiming to authentically reflect the collective efforts of employees across the organization. He emphasized that the report highlights real progress and measurable impact rather than formal narratives, reinforcing the company’s commitment to transparency and long-term responsibility.

El-Saadany also reaffirmed Vodafone Egypt’s commitment to expanding network coverage across newly developed road networks nationwide. He explained that this effort aligns with state priorities and is supported through the Universal Service Fund, under the guidance of the NTRA. Recent projects include extending coverage to major infrastructure routes such as the Middle Ring Road and the Sharm El-Sheikh Axis.

Commenting on telecom service pricing, El-Saadany noted that the telecommunications sector remains among the least aggressive in adjusting prices. He stressed that any potential price changes are preceded by detailed studies of operational costs and customer affordability. While a limited adjustment to service prices is currently under review, Vodafone Egypt’s primary focus remains on maintaining service quality while managing rising operational expenses.

On the financial front, El-Saadany revealed that Vodafone Egypt achieved annual revenues of approximately EGP 55 billion in 2025, representing a strong year-on-year growth rate of 46 percent. The performance reflects increased data consumption, continued investment in network infrastructure, and expanding enterprise and digital services.

The request for additional frequencies, according to El-Saadany, is a strategic step to further enhance network performance and ensure service reliability as demand continues to rise across both consumer and business segments.
