Mai Yassin: Vodafone Egypt Expands Digital Access, Aswan Media Forum to Become an Annual Event

Mai Yassin, Head of External Communications and Sustainability at Vodafone Egypt, affirmed the company’s commitment to making technology accessible to everyone, emphasizing Vodafone’s belief in the transformative power of digital tools to create lasting social impact.

Speaking during Vodafone Egypt’s Media Forum in Aswan 2026, Yassin highlighted the company’s ongoing efforts to empower communities through technology-driven initiatives, particularly in underserved areas.

She shared a deeply personal story from a visit to a public school in Minya, where she encountered a young child in tears. When asked why, the child explained that his dream was simply to own a keyboard. “Today, that child has a keyboard, a mouse, and a screen,” Yassin said, noting that such moments reflect how even small interventions can profoundly change a child’s future and open new pathways for learning and opportunity.

Yassin stressed that Vodafone Egypt’s sustainability strategy is centered on investing in people, especially children and youth, by equipping them with the digital tools and skills needed to thrive in an increasingly technology-driven world.

During her remarks, she also announced that Vodafone Egypt’s Media Forum will become an annual event, serving as a continuous platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange, and engagement with the media on the role of technology in supporting sustainable development.

In addition, Vodafone Egypt revealed plans to organize a specialized training program on the practical use of artificial intelligence technologies, scheduled to take place from February 8 to 10. The program will be delivered in partnership with IMI, as part of Vodafone’s broader efforts to build digital capabilities and raise awareness of emerging technologies across different segments of society.
